New Section For Ford Motor Company Related Cars

Post by lavron »

Had a request to add info on builds that are non-Comet but Comet related, any of sister Fords (or cousins whichever it is) that is useful for everyone working on their Comets.

Hope this is ok with everyone, if not, just get over it :P <------That is a joke btw. Seriously if anyone has valid concerns let me know the reason.

See Ya,
Mike

Very cool! This will only add to the information base here. A Ford is a Ford is a Merc is a Ford!

Should be good, I know my main projects will be our 66 Mustangs. Thanks for the work you put in to this site, has got to be time consuming for sure.

I have 3 as well POP, '48 8N I inherited from my dad, a '57 600 series, and a '64 800 series (or vice versa on the 600 and 800 I can't remember off the top of my head) none are show tractors but have too work when they are running, I got the 8N running a year ago when I brought it home (like sewing machine) and almost immediately poked a hole in the radiator, the 800 needs some carb work and my 600 is main tractor and runs fine.

Hey, Lavron....I've got a 48 8N that I inherited from my dad, too! It runs good, but oil is getting into the cooling system somehow. The coolant looks like a butterscotch slurry. No water in the oil, though. :D Ever seen that problem before?

Sorry Jim no idea, hopefully not a crack in the block, but I would think you would get water in the oil as well (or most likely) I would suggesting finding a website dedicated to old tractors, there is probably tons of them. I usually just Google stuff like that when I have questions, almost always find an answer. Old flathead 4 can't have too much go wrong with them.

I didn't see much activity here lately so I thought I'd put up some pics of my '66 Fairlane. It's not a "build" it's running.
