Yeah those cast aluminum covers (Roy gave them to me) are the ones that are on the engine now. I’m using studs and nuts for the 1” Ansen spacers and early valve covers. Still need some nuts for that set up though.
Eventually I’ll stay with the early steel covers.

Road race Falcon progress-
Got my side exhaust mocked up. Need to hang and clamp it.
Engine is so close to starting and breaking in. Every time I look at it I need something else.
My 65 style fuel pump with the filter housing hangs too low for the Canton oil pan so I had to get a more compact style Carter pump with a higher flow rating (120gph).
Getting the fan and radiator clearance sorted, as well as the stock steel fan shroud. Had to modify it to accommodate the different shape of the Fluidyne radiator top tank.
Another issue was the stock starter vs the Doug’s headers. Headers win. Had to get a mini starter from these guys on advice from a friend that’s used them https://www.dbelectrical.com/products/f ... d0012.html

Pics or it didn’t happen...
Still need to plumb the fuel system and run electrical. I’ll eventually run the old style round top valve covers with spacers to clear the rockers. Hope it doesn’t leak!
Btw thats Roy’s old intake and valve covers and if you look real hard his forged h-beam 302 Scat rods too

Re: 64 Falcon Project
I little update on the Falcon road racer-
Got my electrical figgered out and installed. Ended up using some newer stock harnesses and cutting out the circuits I didn’t need (mostly lighting) and adding a few short wiring runs.
Installed the CSRP 4 piston brakes and 10x2.5” rear drums. Running 1” bore MC and wheel cylinders from a 69 Mustang and filling them with Porterfield carbon Kevlar pads and shoes.
Also fabbed up all new brake lines and 3/8” fuel line.
Currently working on getting my steering parts installed. 16:1 stock gearbox is in (Thanks Rocket!) and I have bump steer outer tie rods from Baer Racing, roller idler and Shelby quick steer parts from Opentracker and a manual center link from FalconParts.
Pics to come once Johnnie fixes my photo site

Re: 64 Falcon Project
Good to hear from you Joe!!! Glad to hear you haven't sold the race car ! //// Joe your pics are still there if you go back & do a little editing. just hit the edit button then get your mouse behind the ''ORG'' in 2 places of each pic link & backspace/erase the org & put ''cc'' back in there & wa la~~ they're back! really goes pretty fast after you get to doing it.
so it looks like this when you are done,,, with cc's where the org's were
I know it works because I quoted you & changed the links in the quote & they came back.
