Nice clean job on the floor! really looks nice. too bad it wont show. I agree with you on the toe boards. I was highly disappointed in mine ,which were not even tall enough  I had to add donor pieces. for that price they should go up to the steering wheel hole. also like the holes you cut for the UCA grease fittings. I wished I had done that to mine .
did you have to reinforce the inside of the shock towers for the new UCA holes? I remember some of the round bodies needed a small piece of metal added. coudn't tell in the video. lookin good, all of it!! :D

No, I had good double layered steel to drill through and thanks for the compliments.

Back glass removal is done. The rubber had turned to super hard plastic on the bottom. A couple days of tedious work and it's out, very nerve wracking since they are not reproduced. These have the stainless trim in the seal. I did this way back in the 80's once and I recall it was a pain. Funny thing is I know you install the stainless into the seal before putting the glass back in but somehow the factory screwed the trim into the top. Anybody been there? Note; this is a bubble window so it may be a Falcon only thing.

I finally finished rebuilding the outer wheel wells that were cut out and left for me to repair before I purchased the car. The rear section was the last detail for the underside. I have countless, dirty hours from under there. Today was the day that I finsihed the seam sealer and sprayed it. I had the AC on at 5:30am and it was comfortable to work on it at 7am. This so-called 80% finished car has turned into a every nut and bolt restoration. Finally, a sense of accomplishment. I look forward to getting this little bird ready to fly.

Bed linered the trunk area this morning. It actually doesn't look bad over the factory sound deadener on the 1/4's.

Looks good Ripper. Car is coming along nicely!

I really like the liner. Thinking of trying it on the inside of my body panels. Qtrs, doors and fenders.

Does it produce much overspray? Stick well over the factory deadening?

was going to use POR but really thinking of the Raptor, be nice to spray it on, instead of brushing the POR.

You see anything that would prohibit putting a product like dynomat over it?

Thanks

Lou

Hmm, post didn't make it; take two.

No overspray and great adhesion. I just cleaned the factory stuff (and everything else after scuffing) with lacquer thinner.

Given the texture of the bedliner I can't help but think that there would be some loss of adhesion using dynamat like products.

Thanks Ripper.

Yea was thinking the same about the texture and the mat. Still think it may be the way to go on the inside of my front fenders.

Thanks again for the help/info

Well, I cut the new pan and got the joy stick up in the car yesterday. I installed the engine today. I think it's the first time I've put a V8 in by myself. All in, nothing scratched up. What is the preferred header gasket for the Windsor? I haven't had a Windsor with headers in going on 30 year's.

I used these on another 302, percy's. they are kinda padded,& aluminum covered. I kept having leaks from a cheap set of headers & these did good. I dont drive it a lot but it has age on them & still good.I would have used them on the comet but the dougs headers I bought came with a set so I used those.

DAD-GUM STACEY,,,i WISH I could recall which gaskets I used way back in the 90's,when I put the headers on my comet cause they are still on it and still have no leaks ,so they must be good,,,I'll check the ones we use on these race cars and get back with you ....pop

Thanks Joe, they have them in stock up in Sebring. I'll go get them this morning.

And Pop, great job on 8th in points.

After hours of what seemed like little accomplished, the Falcon is coming together. I had a sense of well, it felt good yesterday afternoon.

8.8 issues.

The saddle hole in the 8.8 is 21/32". The locating pin on the Falcon leaf springs is 1/2". I needed to do 2 things.

1. Move the axle back 5/8" to gain a full 1" travel in the tranny slip yoke.

2. Lower the car a little more, the 1" drop in the new springs didn't suit me.

So I bought a 3/4" x 2 1/2" x 12" piece of aluminum. I found a stick of 5/8" hot rolled steel to make dowels with (1/32" smaller than the saddle hole). The hole for the factory spring was 9/16" tall so I didn't bore through the lowering block for it. After making the blocks from half the aluminum stick (6 inch piece) I realized that they were too long because of the radius in the spring. They wouldn't lay down on top of the spring. So I cut 50 degree angles on each end to shorten the landing on the spring and it worked just fine.
