Cool article, I've always wondered if there was an advantage to having the front end of the car that high up in the air. Is it just to clear the front axle or what's the deal with that?
I like how the referred to the comet as "pedestrian".

I am not sure but think it has to do with weight transfer, I never have been a fan of the gasser style car especially if someone was doing it just for looks.-Rudy- wrote:I've always wondered if there was an advantage to having the front end of the car that high up in the air

That 64 is owned and driven [A LOT] by Dale Snoke! He built the Comet to look like a 60s drag car,was a 289,C-4,now has a 427W,C-4!It was used recently in Camaro Craft on a Caburater test,it was also a CC feature Car October 2011,and Custom Car Magazine in England in October 2014,the UK feature was shot while he had the Comet over there for a Nostalgia Race!!The Magazines and Manufactures like the Comet because it is very repeatable in testing, seldom ever does anything weird!!
