I'm in the process of switching my 1964 Comet from a C4 trans to a T10 4 speed. The car has a 1989 5.0 roller motor in it and I will be using all factory manual clutch linkage in the swap. My question, using a 50 ounce unbalance flywheel will any clutch/pressure plate and throwoutbearing combination bolt up to this flywheel, does it have the same bolt pattern as the early 289 flywheel, or do I have to use all later model(5.0) parts. If I use all 5.0 parts will they work with my T10 and factory clutch linkage set up? What do you folks recommend?

Is it an OEM ‘Stang flywheel? I know the Ford Racing parts all have dual bolt patterns for the pressure plate. I can’t remember if the stock parts did. I *think* you can use an earlier 10” SAE clutch or later 10.5 metric. Long style (3-finger) or diaphragm-type shouldn’t matter.

If you’re doing a swap & have the flywheel off the car, take it up to the parts store and try ‘em!

Do not forget that the late 5.0 liter block does not have provision for the "Z" bar pivot ball .
