Sheep in wolf’s clothing

Post by Mikeb »

Hi
First time user. Just purchased 65 comet 404 what a great looking car. But I want to make a few mods and was hoping someone could help. Here are the questions l need help with
1. How can I raise the rear end to level it out
2. Change the single exhaust to twin ( stock v8 )
3. Biggest rims and tires without body mods
4. Any simple engine mods to give a little more power
Not interested in speed just want it to look and sound good. A sheep in wolfs clothing if you like
Thanks for any tips in advance pics and websites would be great

1. Like Johno said, air shocks or replace the leaf springs.
2. Have a good exhaust shop run a dual set-up with a pair of DynoMax UltraFlo's.
3. This can vary a bit...but GENERALLY you can use 7" wide rims in the front and back, 4" of back spacing in front, 4.5" in the rear, and a 215 size tire. Keep the tire/wheel combo under 26 to 26.5" tall. You will have to let the rear drop (jack in front of front leaf spring eye) in order to get them on/off.
4. A good tune-up, check/ advance your timing to 12-14 degrees BTDC, Weiand Street Warrior intake and Summit 500-cfm carb.

Let 'er roll!!
'cause Johno says you gotta have a sig pic! :)
