Hey guys quick question I have q brand new set of stock 289 valve springs sitting in my garage and I'm getting ready to rebuild a set of heads for my 260 build, I'm wanting to use the edelbrock 2122 cam and they suggest a set of springs to match the cam, edelbrocks springs at 90lbs closed and 190-200 open (found mismatch info so in that range), the stock 289 springs are 79lbs closed and 177 lbs open, The stock springs will handle the lift of the cam no problem but do you think I should still get a higher rated set of spring or do you think the stock ones would work fine to 5,500 rpm?

I would go heavier. Then you can easily wind it to 6000. Keeping rpm's up on that short stroker helps keep you in the power band.
