That's a pretty nice chart. I'm gonna save that for future reference. I have never been to good on reading plugs. Thanks WGregg!

I can only get a good plug reading with race gas , wide open throttle, and shutdown while wide open . Unleaded gas seems to take a long time at max rpm to change plug color.

I like to shut mine down while climbing a grade on the freeway while the engine is working hard. Then coast to the side of the road and pull a couple plugs to see what they look like. Gives the best reading while doing it that way. Freezes the reading and tells you how it was burning inder load.

I couldn`t find my plug on the chart!! do you think all is good ?
this is one of my plugs I found after Drag Challenge here, I think it went on the 2nd last day as I lost some power, was about 0.150 sec slower than usual, still ran 11.08 & drove about 400 miles, I worked it out later it all came down to the alternator being a bit underpowered causing the battery to go flat & the fuel pump to run slow dropping fuel pressure. Just did a plug reading on my VW 1600 dual port in one of our Dune Buggies. According to the chart I am on the money.
66 Cyclone GT; 245/60R15's on 15x8's and 215/70R15's on 15x7 Magnum's.
There's nothing like the sound of a pushrod V8 singing at the top of her lung's.
