It has been passed around. My question is why would you not order that package for a fastback?

Some of the guys I grew up with ordered plain Jane cars because back in the day there was a certain mystery in having a "sleeper" when you were at a red light.

It's strange but there's always the early Mustang Hipo and GT coupes. 4 speed station wagons. 406 box top Galaxies.
Beauty is in the eye....Awww you know what I mean ...

In reference to the $4500 R code purchase; I did a complete restoration on my 62 Comet in 1983 for $3600. That included rustang suspension, 289, C4 built by swapping camera equipment etc. Granted, the only thing the interior needed was new carpet. If it wasn't gleaming I could see why you passed on it.

In reference to beauty in the eye of the beholder; I about choked when I saw my first 64 Galaxie 500 XL 4 door 390 4 speed console and bucket car.

Like POP said, we would all kick ourselves in the butt for all the deals we let go by or sell some cars or parts that are real valuable today. Andy

BOYS,this is the honest to heavens truth,,,,I bought a 1965 comet cyclone 289 4spd bucket seats, witha blown clutch,,paid 150.00 for it,nice ole car, clean sright body and paint (dark blue w black int)..BUT back then I was into MUSTANGS,so I pulled the 289 out and sold the 4spd and GAVE the rest to a friend that owned a junk yard and car crusher just to get it gone from the place.....I look back on it now and wish I'd crushed the 65 mustang and kept the 65 comet..........pop

I wish I hadn't remembered doing this,,just the thought gives a whizzy feeling in my belly,,just like when I sold my sbf 4spd 67 fairlane to that goofy 16 yrso boy..reocurring thoughts like these gives me a headache and just ruins my idle time, cause it weighs heavy on my mind even after all this time..........pop
