64 Hardtop - decisions, decisions

Post by bigdan »

I've noticed there are quite a few big motor fans on this site so here's a question. In progress (slowly) of dropping a 351C/toploader into my 65 Falcon HT, and I'm trying to decide the direction to take on my 64 Comet. Nothing against the SBF, but I like my rides to be a little different. Was drooling over a 2x4 427 in a friends car yesterday and I think the FE is the way I need to go. While building the 65 I'm in the "parts gathering" mode on my 64, so thoughts on an FE install? I know towers would have to be notched, probably some tunnel work (definitely if a C6), etc but I would some to see some installed pics to get me motivated. So, any pics? pointers? General advice? Thanks in advance.

Dan

Crites Restorations makes an install kit for a FE,or you can do it yourself.YES,the towers need to be notched to make room for headers and you will need to fabricate motor mounts. There are quite a few 64/65 Comets and Falcons running around with FEs in them!! Not sure if 'Falconred' or 'Mercuryjunky' have build shots on here, but they both have FE powered Comets. ROY.
