62 comet
ok so here I go again .After a lot of researching, I think I'm going with then inline 6 200 out of a 65 stang. Looking at upgrading to the c-4 trans.I found some one selling the front suspension out of a 63 falcon future with a v-8. Its 5 lug which is what I am looing to go with. now being its a v-8,and I want to go inline 6 200. will this work. Any mods to convert this to power steering, and putting disc brakes in front?
Re: 62 comet
so it's a v8 now? and you want to put a 6 cyl in it? So what about the Falcon parts?

Re: 62 comet
the 65 inline 6 200 is balanced better than any sbf
Re: 62 comet
'66 up 200 is a better engine, it will have dual bolt pattern on back for large and small bell housings and some internal improvements (can't remember what they are off the top of my head, just know I always look for the '66+ 200)

Ford started building the 200 in I believe 63 (3 freeze plugs)you want one built in 65 or newer. 65 (5 freeze plugs)was the first year they used 7 main bearings. 66 was the first year for the 6 bolt bell housings. 1980 and on you can use a sbf bell housing.
These are wonderful little engines with good gas mileage. Build one right and it will still be running when your hair turns gray.

7000 RPM's!!! That is screaming might need to balance everything including the pulleys to get it to stay together for very long.

You are probably right, my guess is I look for a '66 just to be sure, the one I just got is a '72, now if I could just get the block to a machine shop to be bored and decked.captian_napalm wrote:7 main bearings, higher rpms (7000), and its the 65 and up....have done a lot of research.
