In my 62 comet the nutral safety switch is giving me trouble. the plastic thing with the four fingers on the stering colum is ok. i can't start in park only somewhere around Nutral, i have to play with the shifter with my foot on the brake to start. the back up lights work ok. i thought about just bypassin it. this is ok for me, but if sombody else drives the car it could be trouble. ive cleaned the contacts but it didnt help much. does anyone know of a fix for this?

LARRY,it appears to be out of adjustment,loosen the screws and itt sorta rocks,cause the holes are slotted,,been so many years since I played with one of those. Not a fan of omitting it,,saw a man nearly run over his son one time because the n s switch was omitted on a car he had just traded for and he was not aware of it,also Larry it could be just plum wore out....but try adjusting 1st,,thanks and good luck POPs
