Slow going but plugging away! Got the bracket mounted on the T5 bell and the clutch master/ bracket mounted in the Comet.

...and BECAUSE it's me...I drilled the f'ing holes off about an 1/8" for the firewall bracket... The instructions are a bit ambiguous & there's very little room for error but I even called 'em so NO excuses. :D   I had to "clearance" (ergo grind...) the bracket arm and the clutch pedal a bit. Pedal travel is straight now so I'm leavin' well enough alone!

As if that's not enough, I cut too dang much off of one of the column trim plates; here's what ya get to do when that happens    :D :

So, I need to get everything snugged-up and the column back in. Once that's done I'm going to mock-up the rear seat & brackets and get that thing in.

From there...cut trans tunnel brace out, swap driveshaft yolk, yank old motor...in with the new STUFF! :D

Rocket,

Looking good! Besides drilling the holes a bit off  how did you like the MDL kit? I'm going to use the same one with there clutch pedal that bolts up to the stock bracketry!

Thanks Ben...I do like the kit & they're definitely great to work with. A bit spendy but at this point the extra $$ for an off the shelf deal vs. fabbing something is worth it. I was going to use their cable clutch kit but to date I've only seen ONE truly successful install with headers and a cable-clutched T5 in our cars...and that was with a '94-'95 trans that clocks the fork lower (helping keep the cable away from the headers). Shucks, I even have headers listed on their site as working & they were like "ah, probably need to revise that info...!"

As always it seems like the instructions aren't bad but could be better. If you get the kit let me know if I can help with any pics or certainly lessons learned!! :D :D

Haha! Joe!! I feel like it's slower than a snail in molasses but I REALLY want to drive to PF next year so keep on pluggin' away man! Engine swap should be in the next 2-3 weeks, then it's getting everything back together!

Got the big ole ugly hole patched and the hole for the T5 shifter box cut. Need to clean up and seal underneath then paint. Next up is getting a few welds on the remaining trans mount pieces to reinforce them. Swapped the front driveshaft yoke and flywheel got resurfaced.

Hoping to get engine/ trans swap done before we head out on vacation in a couple weeks but may be early October!!

You need to get that installed so you can test it out and drive down to Arkansas on October 20-22, you would be driving right past my house if you needed an escort  :P

Someday we will all have roadworthy Comets at the same time and we can show the rest of the car world what a bunch of cool Comets are   We may be all too old to drive by then

No tow truck but I do have a 16' flatbed trailer if needed :P

Finally got the 260/ T-10 out! I was waiting for the brother to get here that night & actually got it pulled by my lonesome before he got there!

Probably the fastest sale in CL history (for me anyway)...I listed the engine/ tranny & sold 'em in about 15-min! Nice guy that's gonna use 'em in a 64.5 'Stang.

Got all the exhaust stuff ordered and a raft of other junk. I'm hoping to get the new motor in before it gets any kind of cold!!
