I agree that period correct seats look the best and if I could find a decent pair near me for a good price I'd seriously think about switching them. But the explorer seats are way better than the bench seat the car came with! And I couldn't beat the price of them.

I really like the ones that came in the 89 Cougar xr7 I got the motor from .
I just removed the headrest and they look right at home.
Power lumbar, big power side bolsters, and power up, down and all around,,, lol
These ones started out gray and I painted them with SEM colour coat in about 2007,
the leather has wore out since this pic but the paint is still good!

I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about
