Brake lights

Hey Guys,

i have a 64 comet and of the 4 individual brake lights one of the 2 on the drivers side stays bright all the time when the lights are on even when the brakes are not applied any ideas how to fix this?......Thanks

Likely an issue in the socket with the pigtail wires contacting each other.

I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

Also double check the light bulb. Should be dual filament. One is dim for running lights and the other bright for brake light and signal flasher.
I had a Chinese bulb stay bright for some reason. Also the little contacts inside the socket get smashed and act funny too.

Good luck and let us know what you find.

Edit- one more thing. If you don't find anything at the light bulb/socket you may have to take a look at the turn signal switch inside the steering column.

Great thanks for the info ill start messing around with it and hopefully one of those things will fix it
