65 quarters on 64
65 quarters on 64
Hello all. My 64 hrdt is needing lower half quarters worked. Was wondering if 65's are the same? Will be looking to cut at the lower body line or there abouts. Would like to get pretty close to door opening and figure on working out the rear lower with existing corner? Has anyone done this? Any info is greatly appreciated.
Re: 65 quarters on 64
The wheel openings are different. 64 has more of a teardrop shape. but everything else below the lower body line should be the same.

Hmmm I guess I can see that the rear of the wheel opening on your 65 seems to fall sorta squarish on the leaving end John. Is that right?
Thanks Fro, I've actually talked with him before. Sorta wondered about structure-ability. He actually has steel for the 65's. I really tried to convince him to do the 64's , he said maybe someday.

That should have been....is that right Poboyjo. Doing my posting on my smarta$$ phone and its auto-correct!
Re: 65 quarters on 64
Sure wish someone would start making steel one for the 64's. It would stop a lot of these cars from getting parted out.
Not sure if they would work but what about the Falcon quarters?

Plus one on that Loner. Yeah not sure on the falcon either, seems somebody on here said they would work but...it would look like a falcon quarter. The wheel lip is formed up different.

with a flat-ish top
Re: 65 quarters on 64
My guess you could weld them on, but they are not the same a Falcon quarter is shorter and the wheel opening is shorter as well. I think a '65 Comet wheel opening would look better than a Falcon one if you just couldn't come up with a '64 replacement (as most of us that need them are in the same boat)Loner wrote:Not sure if they would work but what about the Falcon quarters?
