Re: San Diego Chopped ‘64 Comet
Roof is tacked back in place. Windshield from the Hardtop will not work without cutting. No bid deal, it’s just flatter across the top and the corners aren’t as rounded. Passenger B pillar fitted and welded. Passenger door frame extended 1.5” and fitted back in. Working on the driver side b pillar today, but ran out of argon last night. I prefer to TIG the door frame. She’s sittin pretty now!

Thanks! Nope, I’m partial to wing windows. And I deleted all the venting and heat, so the wing windows are the extent of my air movement. They take some work(half a day), but I got the passenger wing fitted back up. I’m a tile setter, so I’ve got a glass blade for my wet saw. I know everyone says you can’t cut safety glass, but I’m going to give it a shot! Worst case, it breaks and I have one made, which is the original plan.

That looks great! I can't get over how quickly you're getting this done, and in an alley way. I take it you have someone help you lift and position parts like the roof?

Thanks guys! Yeah, take lots of measurements and get to cuttin. I eyeball it more than measure though.
Yup, my son just turned 13 and is lending his muscles and eyes on getting it right.

That's friggin' awesome. If the tile business ever slows down, I think you have a new career where you can make a little side cash chopping cars. Keep the pics coming.
Re: San Diego Chopped ‘64 Comet
Yup, it was hard to tell how low you were gonna go. That really looks great!!

Re: San Diego Chopped ‘64 Comet
Thanks for all the kind words guys. My son doesn’t particularly like working on cars/trucks/motorcycles, but he likes lending
me a hand when I need it.
Anyways, here’s a before and after for comparison from the day I brought it home in October.
And also my original ‘photoshop’ job on how I wanted it to look. Pretty damn close!
