Rear Paint on a '64 Comet

Post by lavron »

Most probably know this but wanted to post it here in case someone was trying to do concourse restoration and wanted to know how it came from the factory, my Comets aren't much but they both are still in their original paint, so both the 202 and 404 Comets had the rear panel painted black around the trim piece, I can't say for the other models because I don't have any others  .

You can see that the lower line runs along behind the strip trim and then up to taillight and the all across the top stopping at where the trunk opening lip breaks over to level.

Not sure this will help anybody but there it is, as far as I know it is always black satin paint.

See Ya,

My 64 Caliente hardtop has the original Peacock paint and has the rear panel blackened just like that.
