I was At Laguna Seca Raceway today in Monterey California for the vintage car event. I saw these two Comets, the one car is an actual African safari car. He had all the documentation proving its provenance.
Tomorrow is the Pebble Beach Concours.

It’s good to settle it!! I’ve read a lot both ways on the 81 car....neat. It does look like a number of things have been updated to keep it race legal as time’s gone by.
I’ve always wondered if all the cars originally had the hood/ top of front fenders done in black. I can’t remember definitively, but most (all?) I’ve seen in period pics are black.

I have close up pictures of the items on display. When I am back in Wisconsin I will post some of the best shots.
It’s been a long day at the Concours, kind of Automotive overload.

Wow!
66 Cyclone GT; 245/60R15's on 15x8's and 215/70R15's on 15x7 Magnum's.
There's nothing like the sound of a pushrod V8 singing at the top of her lung's.
