'65 Wiring Harness at Firewall (Inside)

Post by kevinshi »

Hey folks -

From the cab side of the firewall does the wiring harness simply unplug? I have tried pulling on it (lightly) a bit and it not budging. Before I start really giving it a strong pull would be nice to know exactly what type of connection I am dealing with...

(I need to remove my entire harness from the car - I have it all balled up and free... now I just need to get it disconnected from the firewall...)

Thanks!
kevin

Look under the hood, I think you unplug from outside the firewall, there are two plugs up next to the master cylinder.

Mike is right. it just pulls off from the engine bay. you may have to wiggle it back & forth. then to get the cab side of the plugs off the firewall >>you must work from the engine bay side as well. there are some barbs that hold the plugs to the firewall. use a screw driver to push in the barbs so you can push the plug in. I think there are 4 barbs per plug.

on the plus side,,, putting it back on is a breeze!
