65 "Studio Sonic Rear Seat Speaker" option - location?

Post by kevinshi »

The 1965 Comet's had an optional rear seat speaker ("Studio Sonic Rear Seat Speaker") with a (fade) control knob located on the bottom edge of the instrument panel to the right of the steering column.

Does anyone know where exactly that speaker was located in the seat?

If any of you out there have a car with this feature a couple of pictures would be awesome - of the control knob and the speaker itself.
Thanks,
kevin

Package tray? Interesting...

Per the manual and MPC this was an option on the convertible... but the convertible doesn't have a package tray?
Thanks,

Not impossible to mount speakers somehow floating in the soft vinyl well liner of a convertible, but with the top down and the boot over I don't think you'd get much sound out of them.
