Roy Pools wagon

Post by poboyjo65 »

I'm sure some of you remember Roy speaking of his wagon that he was building. I remember him grumbling about it being stuck in paint jail. His son Doug put it in a different shop & got it painted & is doing the delicate assembly.

I just love the color & seat colors! :D

Roy called it one of none. because comet didnt make a 2dr comet in 65.so he used a 2dr falcon wagon & cometized it  so it is half ford & half mercury & a little pun on it being a forgery.

Very Cool!
I seen the car in his garage on one of my visits to his place in Camarillo.
He was still wondering what to do about the body work, interior was empty, a long way from where it is now!
Fred
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

That is super cool, I remember him talking about it, I don't recall it being a 2dr.

Looks like it will/is nice, I like the color as well not something you see every day.

See Ya,

Thanks for posting Johnnie!
I too remember seeing the wagon in Roy’s garage for years in pieces. He’d always complain about what the body shop had done to it. But he’d always be doing something small to it to keep the project going.
Ton of respect for his boys keeping his cars and his memory alive and well.
The wagon looks great!!

Super Cool! 8) I'm sure Roy's smiling down on his son for keeping the project alive.

Thanks for the updates Johno, Doug is really stepping up to the plate! Beautiful color combo, the whole car is certainly going to be eye candy! I had talked to Roy about the car several times, even picked up some extra pieces from him, as I also have a falcon 2dr wagon that I hope to Cometize someday. Doug's efforts certainly set the bar high!

The color combo is off the charts. And we all should consider; these half breed Merc's don't get all the money they should anyway so why not make the colors kick?
I'm lovin the Rootbeer Float as I'm going to call this car.

That car is going to be awesome when completed. Makes me want to look for a 2 door falcon wagon.
