Cigarette lighter not working

How do you remove the cigarette lighter in 64 comet? Mine is dead and want to out a new one in.

reach under the dash to the back of it, unplug the wire & unscrew it from the back. you'll need to hold the outer part with your other hand/finger stuck in it.

You might check for current at that wire before you take out the lighter, could be a fuse or something.
