Electrical issues 64 Comet

Any one ever have an issue with 64 Comet while running and as i apply brakes or turn on headlights it dies?

When you say it dies what do you mean? It just shuts down altogether or slows down? If it just shuts down can you restart it with the lights on or not?

It shuts down suddenly. No sputtering. I need to wait 10 minutes or so before I can start it again.

Sorry for the late reply, but I would first check the voltage at the coil with the ignition switch on an the engine not running and then check the voltage at the coil with the engine running, then have somebody put the brakes on while you are checking the voltage. Sounds like your loosing the voltage to the coil, but the voltage maybe low to begin with.

I don't have the answer here (only guesses, which I'll save in case you get more desperate). I am curious to hear what the answer was, so please post if you solved it.
