My '65 has a 351w. The towers haven't been cut but it is tighter than a banjo string to change plugs. For all the headache and hassle you're better off to stay in the 289/302 family. That said, I'm putting a 351c where the W currently resides so I'm looking at a whole new bunch of problems...Should you go with a 351w, check out Tubular Automotive for headers to fit. Still gonna be tight but better.
The front may also sit a bit lower due to the added weight. A C4 trans will work without tunnel mods. Consider upping to a 9" rear. Radiator may need an upgrade,too...good luck brother...Mac

You're a magician to get a 351W in there; a Cleveland even more so. My 302-based stroker is extremely tight, and the headers had to be flogged on to get them to fit. As far as power, not sure what my 331 runs, but with a T5 swap it is a blast to drive, and FAR exceeds my early 65 that had a 289/C4. My biggest concern is it hooking up and turning the T5 into a grenade.
I ran a cleveland in mine with the stock shock towers for 20 years before finally cutting my shock towers. It was really tight, I had a set of headers which had each pipe was individual and two crossed under the motor and into slip on collectors. It took all day to install, as many of the bolt could only be turned a quater turn at a time with some tiny ignition wrenches. As I got older I gave up and cut the shock towers back and now no issues.
1965 Mercury Cyclone former drag car, 1971 Boss 351 engine, 4 speed, ladder bars, etc. Now returned to a street car.
I had the same issue for years after I installed the Boss 302 in my Cyclone, special headers and a real chore to install them or change spark plugs.
This time around I sectioned the shock towers and was able to gain precious inches, maintenance is much easier now.

Comatt hasn't signed in for 4 months or so. I wonder if all your input has fallen on the floor?
Are you still around Comatt?
If so have you made any decisions?
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about
