64 Comet Gas gauge doesnt work ?

I have a problem with the gas gague working in my 64 calinete i recently bought..... TOday i pulled the gas tank and installed a new sending unit.. I then added some gas to the tank after reassembly... Still i get no reading on the gauge... Not sure could it be a problem with gas gauge in the dash.. Think i got an extra one of them in alll the parts i got with the car... Let me know Thanks Davi
