Hey Fred, is this your motor http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Essex ... anadian%29 from a T-Bird SC?

that motor and mine have the same origins
kinda like a 289 and a Boss 302
Boss is stronger and flows better.
The Sc motor makes a ton a torque, 330 at like 2400 rpm.
so it has many improvements over the standard motor.
Plus because Circle track associations were going to V6's at the time of introduction about '82-3
Ford did a few things to the motor so it would go into race cars easier like a the oil pump in the front cover
making remote pumps easier to adapt., and the bellhousing bolt pattern same as the SBF etc.
Great little piece, unfortunatly mine is getting tired and they're expensive to build.

Wow, now that I know a bit about it..it is kinda cool.
Hey at least its a Ford motor!
There must be a weight savings too.
And hey Fred..its just money for the rebuild. You have plenty of that :D
