At present I use the inner fenderwells to limit side to side
movement of the rearend.
I can tell how well it works by the smell of rubber, but if the smoke
gets any worse I may look at this mod more closely.
I'd rather do it myself if it's done right or not,,,isn't that what hotrodding is all about

Fred if you have rubber shackle bushings & watched that video ,you know the sliders will help. I want one of those go pros to help diagnose problems like slop in steering when I'm alone & no one around to turn the wheel, noises,,,all sorts of uses on cars.

One other thing I forgot to mention. there is just a little bit of space between the bushings & the slider body. I had a washer drilled out to fit but it was tight & I was tired so I thought I would run it some & let a thousandth or 2 wear off then I'll put in that washer, or I may get 2 thinner washers for the outsides of each aluminum bushing because the aluminum may wear too quick.

Same car, a before & after new upper shackle bushings. I suppose it is better but I cant tell much difference.

For just a cruiser car, with plenty of wheel well room this wouldn't be bad, probably good for a softer ride. but for spirited driving & big back tires with not much room I wanted to get away from at least the rubber upper bushing, which lets the whole shackle swing sideways. but I couldn't even find poly bushings for a 65 comet.

Looks good JohnO. We just need some rain to wash that brine off of the roads so you can get a test ride in.

Got the rain last night. close to 70* for a high today but cloudy . the roads were washed off but not quite dry, they're still damp from rain & I think still sweating from the temp change It was about 10* sunday. But this evening I got in a little testing but with unpredictable road conditions I didnt push it too hard , but it seems tighter now when switching directions & in a bouncy curves. I dont think I could ask for it to drive better with out forkin out some big bucks for adjustable shocks.right now I have KYB gas adjusts front & back. I'm really happy with the sliders so far on this initial test drive ! :D :P
