I went and checked out the progress on your car this weekend. I think umassjj said it best---sick You'll sure have your work cut out for you painting underneath. You might want to consider investing in a lift. Ha! Have a good trip home. Later.

Re: 64 Comet Project OVERHAUL
Kelly, your correct clutch and bell housing are finally here! But they didn't send the dowels for alignment so waiting again!
For anyone keeping tabs on this build, we have had a lot of problems getting parts, especially from Tremec. Their T56's are 90 days out, and after the first 90 days, the T56 made it to within 75 miles of here and got sunk in a flood at FedX. Wait another 90 days and a T5 shows up. and another 60 days for the correct T56 six speed. But the wrong clutch (GM), no cross-member and a Lakewood bell for a five speed.. The clutch is now a Centerforce dual disc, and the only correct bell is made by Quicktime.
The car is finally sitting on its own suspension, and when the tranny is finally bolted to the engine we will try squeezing it all together. We may (will) need to modify the firewall and floor hump and it looks like the steering shaft going to the power rack will interfere with the header tubes.
Peps is right, a lift would be a great thing about now! Maybe he and Shelby should buy us one? CC1

Something I've never kept track of is how many beers it takes to complete a project. This should be the true unit of measure. Nice buggy!

My only complaint, and I see it all the time, the M11 front end places the front wheel too far back in the wheel well!! JMO , ROY.

Re: 64 Comet Project OVERHAUL
Kelly (CometJR) and I are getting close to firing up his 408W 8-stack EFI in his car, an old drag car 64 Cyclone. He works 10-11 hours away from home and we have very little time to work on it on during his short visits here. A few months back we buttoned up the cooling system with the new radiator and fabricated a fan shroud, and yesterday after adding coolant, we fought with an o-ringed swivel thermostat housing for hours. Next it was fighting with the stainless power steering hoses to the R&P, and adding a steering cooler. Today we will attempt to sort out the wiring for the EFI. Tomorrow we will plumb the fuel system, all ANS and braided lines to a gas can! Here is where the rest of the project is at now. Engine with headers in, 6speed tranny and driveshaft in, No fuel tank- one needs to be fabricated with an internal EFI pump, brakes need plumbing and master cylinder installed, hydraulic clutch needs plumbing, no exhaust system past the collectors, interior all out but cleaned and ready, wiring harness is strung through car but nothing hooked up. So that's where this project is at to date, but by Sunday we hope to fire the up the 552 HP small block in the car for the first time! We will attemp a video, so wish us luck! Cary Peps64 Cyclone is almost at the same build stage, sitting about twenty feet away!
