Drove the Ol Girl to work today. Left work went by a friend's scrap yard so he could see it. One of the guys that works for him was makin not so wise cracks about it. My buddy told him to be careful, advised that I carry a gun and drive a police car while at work. Wise cracker told me not to leave weak when I left. A set of possies and a huge cloud of tire smoke and I was gone. Called my buddy when I got home and he said wise guy wasn't laughing when I left. Was a little nervous about dragging his Monte Carslo out.

I welded some metal patches into my white car project. Nothing to exciting. I also got the front clip bolted tight on the black car. It's gonna be nice tomorrow, so the black car might get a bath.

Switched out the valve cover wingnuts for normal stainless nuts. Lots more room in the engine bay now...

THE closet FORD DEALERSHIP to me here ,built a brand new place and moved,,,mile and half closer,,so today I fired up the comet and drove it up there,,needed fresh gas anyway,,the comet was a hit,,,one of the suit and tie guys came out to gander at it and offered to buy it,,,but recalling in my mind yrs ago I put a price on my 67 4spd fairlane, and it was bought,I said it was not for sale,,he said everything has a price ,,but I said, this comet don't,,,so he bragged on the comet and walked away,,one of the saleman said ,,MAN ,YOU COULD'V SOLD THIS,he'd bought it and I said BUT THEN IT WOULD BE GONE,,and I don't need to sell it....BACK,to the comet,,felt great toolin thru town ,getting thumbs up and waves, and returning them, stopped by the gas station and was there forever ,people taking pic's and of course had to listen to their stories about their brother or daddy had one just like it,,I listen and join in...a lot of them didn't even know what it was or who built it,,but their brother had one,,,OL POP had a good time,,moral of this story is...THERE IS A FEW THINGS,,,money just can't buy :!: :!:  :)

Pop, glad you had a good time. And dang glad you didn't sale it. Some people just don't get the value of a man's car. You are correct. Not everything has a price. Goin to wash mine in a couple of hours and to the first show and shine of the year. Fun will be had by all I hope, Pugs.
