steering column
Ok so I replaced the turn signal switch, I must say whoever designed this needs to be slapped... this has become a pain in the ass....Now the shift collar will not stay in place. It keeps popping off.... It also seems that something is missing. There are two 7/16 nuts that seem to not hold anything down. It also seems the innards of the column seem to shift to the right. So in order of removal, I removed the steering wheel, turn signal cam, turn signal switch, the piece that the switch, cam, and indicator screw into, and the column shift collar...I am stumped.
Re: steering column
Those 2 7/16 nuts hold the guts together. there shoulb be 2 bolts that slide up from under the collar with square heads that fit into recesses. Might need to locate a diagram

Re: steering column
ok I see where they go, but how in the hell do you get them in there to tighten up?
Re: steering column
Just barely start the nuts beforehand ,then slip it on .just the edge of the nut hangs on the hole. here is where you fish for the holes, when you get a bite snug each one up a little . get them all in place then snug them up evenly.
