Rusted rear motor mount
Rusted rear motor mount
I'm in need of some suggestions or ideas regarding the rear Motor mount. The piece that follows the drive shaft hump all the way across where the mount bolts to is rusted through. Does anyone know if that part is available anywhere? Regards Steve

That part isn’t available but you may be able to find a clean one from a junkyard somewhere. It’ll have to be cut out.
63-65 Falcons Comets And Rancheros should fit.
Option 2- make one yourself. Cut the old rusty one out completely and fab one with the same thickness metal.
Option 3- get a reproduction piece for a 65 Mustang and cut/beat to fit. I believe the Mustang and Comet have different shaped tunnels...but it may be close enough?
Good luck and follow up with your fix.
Note- Dynacorn makes a complete Falcon/Comet floor pan assembly. I’m not sure but it should have the crossmember attached to the new pan. If that’s the case maybe you could email them and have a new reproduction piece sold separately? Worth a shot.

That structure does not come on the pan, only the seat supports. I'm having a deja vu. Did you bring this up on a FB page?
66 Cyclone GT; 245/60R15's on 15x8's and 215/70R15's on 15x7 Magnum's.

Here’s the Mustang version. Not sure how close it is the the Comet version. Maybe a bit wider.

Hey that’s my preferred scientific method of parts fitting. Allows flexibility and satisfies my caveman instincts!
