Introduction
Hello all, I just bought myself a stripped-down shell of a '66 Cyclone GT hardtop, along with many boxes and bundles of parts that go with it. No engine or tranny but the VIN and doorplate indicate it was an S-code 390 w/C6 automatic. This will be my first restoration project, although I've wanted one of these ever since I got rid of the '66 Caliente I drove in high school. I look forward to learning from everyone's experience on here and I hope I can contribute some along the way. -Steve

Thanks for the warm welcome! I haven’t taken delivery yet so I don’t have any good pictures. I’ll post some as soon as I get the car home.
Re: Introduction
Welcome, what are your plans for the car?
Looking forward to following your build.
I'm not an avid reader so more pics the better

Re: Introduction
That gives you something to do One of my favorite body styles is '66 2dr hardtop, I bet you can make a super nice car out of it. Not sure how hard it is to find parts for them but since it shares the Fairlane platform I am sure most of the mechanical parts are easier to come by.skoker wrote:My Cyclone GT was delivered yesterday. Can't wait to see you start working on it.
See Ya,
Mike
Re: Introduction
Thanks, Mike. Speaking of Fairlane compatibility, do you know if floor pans are interchangeable between '66 Fairlanes and Comets? The floors on this one are worse than I thought.
Re: Introduction
well you have a good platform to start with,,a 2drht...have seen worst that were brought back to a great looking ride..time effort and dollars and throw in a lot of sweat....you'll be there...good luck !! pop

I am going to say yes, if I am wrong someone here will correct meskoker wrote:do you know if floor pans are interchangeable between '66 Fairlanes and Comets?
Check the regular places like Mac's etc. and see if they list them as the same.
Good luck, I think it will all come together for you just fine.
See Ya,
Mike
