Hello,
Brand New to the Comet world from Norther California recently acquired a beautiful 1962 Comet that needed a loving home, it need a paint job and door seal etc...and it does need some cosmetic TLC. The engine was the focal point for the previous owner as it is in very good shape. I stumbled upon this Forum and I'm glad I did, actually my wife found it and we decided to join up as we have many questions.
We are and have been classic car enthusiast this is our third classic. The Comet came to us with a pastel green paint and glittery rooftop not the colors we would have chosen and also on the right rear area has as you will see on the pic the name "Sassy" painted, could this be a coincidence as we noticed the Sassy pops in quite a bit on this forum?
I do have a question in regards to the rear truck lid as trying to figure out how to stop it from hitting the rear window, Does anyone know how to properly adjust it so the lid stops before hitting back window? any input would be appreciated.
I'm attaching some photos of our Comet whom we have named "HONEY RIDER" if you are a 007 James Bond fan you'll get it.
well thank you so much and hope to hear back

Re: Just Brought home Our 1962 Comet
Welcome to the forum, looks like a nice project.
Not sure on the trunk lid, they must be different than my '64 because there is no way mine could ever hit because my hinges are not that long, someone will have an answer or a suggestion soon enough.
No harm in asking questions that is one reason we are all here.
See Ya,
Mike

Welcome aboard! I'm not familiar with the earlier models, so not sure how to fix your trunk problem. Does the center of the trunk hit the glass, or the edges of the trunk hit the sides of the window frame? Watch the motion of the hinges and see if there is any evidence of bent or missing stops that they are supposed to strike.
