Re: '65 with 351c/C6 install question
No PS or PB. Came with a manual 3 speed. Gonna clean up the tunnel by cutting and replacing the section where it joins the firewall. A slight enlargement. Was considering Sanderson or Doug's shorty headers which looks like a compromise to avoid clearance problems. Well I'm going to push on with plan...

'65 with 351c/C6 install question
All, aside from notching the towers, will be attempting a 351c/c6 install using the early 70's mustang Hooker super Comp headers into my '65 Cyclone. An early 70's Car Craft mag article depicts this with an early 60's Ford with a similar engine bay so the likelihood is doable. Currently a 351w / c6 ...

Re: Frame connectors
Tinman fabrications carries a set that looks promising. If you check out YouTube, there's a racer that goes by VXM that provides racers with suspension, body and rollcage fab work. He's not fancy, but does really good work. One of his videos shows an install of frame connectors on a '65 Comet. Seems...

Starter alignment issues on 351c
A while back I picked up a mounting starter bracket for a 351 Windsor in the hopes that it would work with my Cleveland. This was for test trial on a stand and not having to deal with the mass of the C6 until I dropped it in the car. The bracket is for a Windsor but shouldn't matter since it's all s...

Re: Original fiberglass hoods for the '65...?
Well...make that 3 of us on the forum. Mines an original. Car has a special order code that, I believe, relates to the hood, remote door mirror or dash pad delete. Tried years ago to investigate the code numbers but came up zero. Best I could establish was that specialty codes were individual to eac...

Re: Original fiberglass hoods for the '65...?
Yep, currently have an A/FX Crites hood in the corner that may get some mods. Got an old Grump Lump scoop many years ago so I'll graft it to the Crites hood to accomodate the tunnel ram. Modify an original 65 fg hood?...blasphemy. Going for an early 70's vibe where wild paint jobs and scoops were ov...

Re: Engine swap
My '65 has a 351w. The towers haven't been cut but it is tighter than a banjo string to change plugs. For all the headache and hassle you're better off to stay in the 289/302 family. That said, I'm putting a 351c where the W currently resides so I'm looking at a whole new bunch of problems...Should ...

'65 Mustang seats for a Comet
Just received my 65 Mustang seats back from the upholstery shop. Basic black vinyl standard buckets. Also purchased new slides from CJ's. Look great. Not cheap. The price of everything these days has gotten stupid and puts a damper on the hobby as a whole. Hate to sound like an old timer... Guess I ...

Original fiberglass hoods for the '65...?
I understand that a limited number of the 65 Cyclones came with the fg hoods to get the publics reaction for the upcoming 66 models. The number made escapes me though. Something like 200 plus...? Currently there are like 50 or so remaining? Is anyone familiar with the current repops as far as qualit...

Re-introducing myself...it's been a while...
Hello all, It has been so long since last posting that I thought it best to reintroduce myself. Recently fired my 351c and currently fixing a few areas needing attention. The headers had been cerakoted and upon heating up, they began to peel like a snake skin. Very disappointing. Was told to simply ...

C6 351c fitment
All, been reading a lot of contradicting opinions on this one...currently running a 351w with a C6 in my '65. Now building a 351c to replace the Windsor. Will the C6 bolt to the 351c...? Will the Windsor flexplate work? Lots of differing input. I know that a punched up C4 would be better but it's ha...

Re: Seats
I picked up some used 65 Mustang seats from Craigslist for my 65 Cyclone. Had my local upholstery shop touch them up. Look great. Couldn't see spending the additional $ on the Cyclone seat covers when all i really wanted was basic black.
IMO, money best spent elsewhere...Mac

Well after 50 years of no pad, i'll probably keep it the way it is. It an odd quirk that kind of goes with the car.

Re: '65 Cyclone DSO code decipher...?
The dash pad delete is odd. There are slight indentations on the dash to accommodate the punch out area for the clips....only no holes were punched. When viewed from above it can't be seen. But when viewed at an angle they show up. About 12 years ago I ran a title search but was never successful at ...
