If it seems like it is the connectors & not a shorted wire you might try pulling the plug & cleaning the contacts on it. it's harder to clean the female sides but I used some small wire brushes to clean mine & other female wire connectors & used electronic grease before reinstalling

I'm ''Guessing'' C4,3 speed ,& that the manual came out before the trans. I think it was about that time the auto trans went from 2 to 3 speed.

Basing my guess from 65's ,they had a 6 code & was a 3 speed c4.
