Re: Dan's 65 Cyclone project !
Finally getting started. Plan is to get the body stripped down and cleaned up first, of course. Like my last project, I'll stitch all the body seams just in case and replace the floor. At that point, I'll probably go to a rotisserie for the rest of the rust repair. Biggest surprise thus far is the ...

Re: Has anyone used a Classic Update Wire Kit
Much appreciated! Could you have mounted that to the firewall or were there no ideal spots for that unit? I’ve seen some guys put it in the glove box simply for ease of access. I think I’d like to keep my glove box functional and put secure that under the dash or firewall, if possible. I have used ...

For noise. The different gaps help keep fan noise down.Jims65cyclone wrote: ↑Wed Nov 01, 2023 4:56 pmThis is an aside, but what was the purpose of the non-symmetrical placement of the blades on those fans? Seems like it would throw the balance out of whack.

Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
When i mocked if up the the other day with the suspension pretty much neutral the bar was within 1/8” of the strut rod. Itjust seems wrong. If the bar was in upside down I am pretty sure it would interfere with the sub frame. The angle looks wrong, should be parallel to the strut rod? Are you sure ...

Re: Lou's 65 Comet Build
That’s a nice one Lou. Other than looks I wonder what the difference is between Derales “Heavy Duty” and their “high Performance” fans? Joe From their site the heavy duty pulls more air at low speeds and 10,000rpm limit. The high performance is for limited space and rated for 8,000 rpm. My buddy st...

Re: Lou's 65 Comet Build
I have been trying to decide what to run. Been looking at an aluminum one like Boss has, but I didn't know ford had a factory flex fan. What years/models did they use a flex fan? Thanks Lou Hey Lou I think I have a stock Ford flex fan somewhere here. If you want it it’s yours. Im running a lightwei...

Re: Lou's 65 Comet Build
A little off subject but- I am kind of curious as to why aluminum radiators are so popular. Being more of an old school thinker I have always used copper/ brass radiators with excellent results. My belief is that if you design the cooling system with components that are proven to work and are compa...

Re: Lou's 65 Comet Build
Lou your car is truly breathtaking. I bought a 25" big block radiator for my Comet and the vendor I bought it from painted the whole thing black for me at no charge. I had worries about cooling the 347 stroker earmarked for the build. Your build is an inspiration for me. It shows how to do it right...

Re: Lou's 65 Comet Build
It's all looking great, Lou! I was the same way when I put the aluminum rad in mine. My grill is totally black except for the corral and the center emblem, and I didn't like the way the bright aluminum showed through the grill, so I took it back out and lightly sprayed the front of the core satin b...

Re: Root's 64 Cyclone Build
Sorry to highjack your thread, and excuse my ignorance, but what is a residual valve? I ran all my lines on my 65 Cyclone, made brackets to use 2006 Mustang GT calipers and rotors, and just used an adjustable proportioning valve and nothing else. My brakes work great and are very responsive. I gues...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build
Looks GREAT! Doug. The Camber Mod is one of the things I regret not doing to mine. The Brakes and front suspension look awesome, what wheels are you going to run? The reason I ask is I have the same brakes and I have 15x6 Cragars for the front and the spokes hit/rub the calipers. Needed to space the...
