Re: Tomb's 65 Comet Build

Those are very tidy coilovers!
With the changes Ive made in the front the cars ride height is where a stock suspension would be about touching the subbers, do you think those coilovers can operate in that range?
I run a stock length shock but it is quite compressed at ride height.

Re: Finally building my 64 Comet

Thank you guys for the replies, i think im going to go with the steel wheels only because i already have a set of TTD's on the car right now so if i ever get tired of the steel wheels then ill just throw the old ones back on. Now one thing i do need help with on the wheels is finding out what color...

I'm in. A PayPal would probably be best but maybe contact Lori to make sure she has access to it.

Re: Finally building my 64 Comet

It takes an incredible amount of effort by a skilled body and paint person to completely hide a repaint and a rookie painter to spot a repaint. Maybe ask around for opinions.
Hard to believe your 64 is in original paint though,,.

Re: Finally building my 64 Comet

Hey Smithhe, I'm in on the steelies but , I have a major dislike of full disc hubcaps, I'd be into a cool set of lugnuts and centercaps with the steelies. I have bullet tip caps and lugnuts on my car and think they would work well with the steelies too. Fred Like in the small wheel https://cometcent...

Re: Upgrade your steering ( 65 V8 steering)

Down loaded the pdf of the Koyo catalogue and found a couple pages of these bearings so gonna take some measurements off my idler and see how close I can get.

Re: Upgrade your steering ( 65 V8 steering)

Wandering around the net looking at bearings found this pic.
Wouldn't this one work cool in an idler arm if the right size was available? More searching required.

Re: Upgrade your steering ( 65 V8 steering)

Thank you Sir!
So now, do I hack together my own? Or, save up the 200 plus dollars Cdn and "click, open a beer, wait, install" as Comethead Joe would say.
I need an old one to tear apart, think that will be my first goal.

Re: Upgrade your steering ( 65 V8 steering)

I've searched through some stuff and can't find it.
I'm looking for an article or link to an article on building
a roller bearing 65 V8 idler arm. I was sure there is one in here somewhere, anyone have an idea?

But happy your having fun. Ya wanna be careful though or it will end up with tags on it and you'll end up getting tagged with a street racing ticket

Re: Touchy power brakes

Seeing as the power assist is produced by vacuum from the motor I'd be checking the vacuum line, maybe pull it out and clear any possible obstruction, check for cracks.
I don't know how to check the diaphram.
