Re: Control Arms

Like the guys said 64-65 Comets use the same suspension parts as 65-66 Mustang.
Sometimes it behooves you not to mention that you need a part for a 65 Mercury Comet. Saves confusion for the parts guy!
I’ll just say 65 Mustang and I get good results

If I spend the time reconditioning mine, or happen to find a NOS, can I expect the system to work? (Or are you all telling me that even with everything NOS... the stock setup just didn't work very well?)
Yes absolutely it will work perfectly. Mine does. :D

Re: '65 Fuel Sending Unit

I agree the repops are garbage. The best thing they do is plug that big hole. Here’s a couple rebuild services https://www.bobsspeedometer.com/1/120/services.asp https://www.clocksandgauges.com/gas-tank-sending-unit-repair.html I haven’t used either but found them searching awhile back when I took m...

Re: Antenna

I have a round antenna base. I’ve only seen round ones on 64-65 Comets and Falcons.

Asking for a friend-
Anyone have a lead on a 5 bolt block? His is old and tired and he wants to start building a replacement motor.

Re: PSA: '65 Speedometer Grommet/Seal/Insulator (C6TZ-17261)

Thanks Kevin! When I replaced my C4 speedo cable for a 4 speed Toploader cable (longer) I re-used the original foam cylindrical seal like the one pictured. I too had to slice it open to fit it over the reproduction cable. Appreciate all the research you’re doing and posting here for future reference...

Re: Cast iron exhaust manifolds

There some pics of the zbars in this old thread https://www.cometcentral.com/forum/view ... 1&start=30

So it wasn’t so much where the lower leg is located but the shape of the lower leg.

Re: Cast iron exhaust manifolds

I used the Maverick left side manifold and 65 Mustang Hipo zbar which has the lower leg all the way inboard. Gave me enough room to get the exhaust pipe through there. Still tight though. Mustang engine compartments are wider than the Comets so I had to cut off a small piece from the inner end of th...
