Re: How to Tell Front Rotors

Got it. I have the granada brakes. Single piston. at about the 130 mark toward the rear. I am assuming that granada years dont matter? The weather here in the Seattle area has really been crappy, making it hard to get out to the shop and work on it. I have finished and installed the sub-frame conect...

How to Tell Front Rotors

My 65 Comet has front disk brakes. I have no idea what they are off of and cannot get in touch of previous owner. How can you tell what the front rotors are off of? They are 5 lug but other then that I know nothing. I want to replace them because they look thin and are pitted bad from sitting for ye...

Running brake lines, fuel line and Batt cable

65 post. installing a fuel cell, battery in the trunk and all new brake lines. trying to figure out the best route to run everything from the rear to the front. My biggest concern is routing everything at the torque box. Starting at the rear, I was thinking of running everything on the outside of th...

Re: Ground up Brake System Build

The difference between a power MC and non-power is the bore size. Power MCs generally have larger bores. I think if you used a power MC in a non-power application you would have more pedal effort for the same stopping power. 3/16" line is right for brake systems unless running massive calipers and ...

Ground up Brake System Build

Hello, I have a 65 comet 2dr post with a 302/big cam/full roller, C4/3500 stall, 9inch posi/411.1. Front disk brakes, 5lug. I am currently installing sub-frame connectors and a 6pt cage to stiffen the body. APPROX 3000lbs. My next plan is to install and setup the brakes. I have a new Master Cyl from...

Re: New To Forum and Drag Racing

I live less than a mile from Pacific Raceways near Seattle WA So driving on the slicks is not a problem. There are some small tracks opening up that are about 50 miles away but I will trailer to those. Your police must be more relaxed than out here. The Ohio State Highway patrol site outside of Nor...

Re: New To Forum and Drag Racing

Why do you see more hardtops than post cars? All the Comets on the internet and magazines seem to be hardtops. Is a post car rare? I know the production run was about the same between the HT's and posts. Is one better than the other? I know the 202 (post) stock is the base model 6cyl but wouldn't a ...

Re: New To Forum and Drag Racing

Thank for the info. The 26 inch slick is the way I will go. I do have a 3rd member with a posi and 4:11 gears. I think I will throw that in before I take it out. I have owned this car for about 8 years and now want to race it. The only reason there is a budget is that, according to my wife, I have t...

Re: New To Forum and Drag Racing

Good advice, Thanks. I used to race at a local circle track so I know about the costs of racing. I have a lot of race parts laying around so I thought I would build this car for my son to race in the High School Drags. My goal with the comet, at least this year, is to get into the 13's hopefully low...
