Re: 63 Comet 2 dr hard top 260 4speed

A little late, sorry..... but I used the csrp kit on mine. Pretty nice, bolts right on. I also got rid of power steering, well it was mainly gotten rid of before I got it, I just finished that part. Used one of those power to manual converter things. Seems to work fine. While I was doing all this, ...

Re: 63 Comet 2 dr hard top 260 4speed

Got the new 15x6 Torque Thrusts on the rear with 205/65 tires. They fit really nice although the driver side seems to have about 1/2 more clearance than the passenger side, but both side clear with out having the roll the fender lips. http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o70/x77d80/63%20Comet/IMG_0637...

Re: 63 Comet 2 dr hard top 260 4speed

I had a little time this afternoon so I tried too clean up the inside a bit. There are a few small tears here & there but over all it doesn't look too bad. http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o70/x77d80/63%20Comet/IMG_0631_zpsjcd9f2v6.jpg http://i117.photobucket.com/albums/o70/x77d80/63%20Comet/IMG_0...

Re: 63 Comet pitman arm??

I called the place that listed they had 20 and unfortunately they don't zero in stock. His only option was to send mine off to have it rebuilt. I asked about the cost and he said it would be 201.00 plus shipping both ways.

Re: 63 Comet pitman arm??

Looked up the part for you. '63 V-8 with Manual Steering used one of two Arms. One with 1" dia. and also a 1 1/8' dia. You'll need a C3DZ-3590-A, available here (20 in stock) http://www.rearcounter.com/C3DZ-3590-A-parts965404.html Here's a few pics of the parts manual. http://i.imgur.com/JxvxxvMl.j...

Re: 63 Comet pitman arm??

A 1-1/8" sector box will measure about 1.058 towards the bottom of the splinesd section (just above threaded part where nut goes on) before it starts to taper larger toward top. Is there a metal tag on the steering box (top)?? That would help. You can't see casting numbers or date code installed in...

Re: 63 Comet pitman arm??

Is it a 63.5 V8 car?? Those would not have a 1-inch sector box unless it was changed. Your pitman arm has the ball stud for connection to the early V8 center link. I've never seen one of those with a 1-inch sector...measure your steering box sector shaft diameter with a caliper if you have one and ...

Re: 63 Comet pitman arm??

The one in the picture on that link looks different, has 2 holes. This would be a perfect time to upgrade to 65 steering. I know it means a bigger money but it would make the car drive better & all but the centerlink is same as a mustang,so much cheaper & easier to get parts. If it were my car that...

Re: 63 Comet 2 dr hard top 260 4speed

Ordered a pair of 15x6 Torque Thrust wheels today for the rear. I found them on ebay for about 95.00 a wheel and summit beat their price. I have a pair of fairly new 205 65's that came off my daughters former 99 Mustang that I'll try and see how they fit in the rear. I'm thinking about going with a ...
