Re: Rocket's Comet Build
Getting close to time again. I recently got a new job after almost 20-years...that’s been kicking my ass a little! Combine that with the kids sports, home improvements, and my needing a break after 4-years of late nights with the Comet... Yep, basically just drove it all summer...   ...

Re: steering box and linkage
Probably a Granada-type spindle. As stated pics are a huge help. If there are any Foooooord part #’s on the spindles that’s good info also. In a nutshell, it doesn’t take that many parts to do it right...though you can use that many or more and do it WRONG!

Love those years!! There was a ‘68 Cyclone at the last show I went to...man!! I stared at it for a loooong time. The comparatively huge engine compartment made me grit my teeth! Think about how much knuckle skin you could’ve saved!!!

I’ve heard to use anti-sieze also but man, that’d be pricey and I wouldn’t want to do it without Scuba gear...
Gonna try the ATF thing on the nephews project!

Bed liner to coat the wheel...genius!! :D  I’m shamelessly gonna steal that idea. Need something to start with as it starts getting cold! Your progress looks great!! Dunno if I mentioned before, but I would use the coated steel brake line for tight bends. The NiCopp stuff is great to work with ...

Re: steering box
RH - 5-turn ‘64-‘65 Comet/Falcon boxes are relatively easy to find find. The 63.5-64 V8 boxes used a 1-1/8 sector shaft, 65 V8 used 1-inch. All 6-cyl were 1-inch sector. If you’re replacing a 1-inch sector gives you more available options (convert to ‘65 steering, quick steer parts, etc.). 4-turn bo...

From the what I’ve seen the sector shaft is the same except for the threaded end (in same ratio as noted) so it should work.

Re: Strut brace question..what happend here?
Shucks, you're halfway to an export brace (like Johno linked to)!
They're a better part IMO! Is that really a single pot plastic master cylinder?!?!? Man! FYI that those (any single circuit) master cylinders are almost always replaced with dual circuit designs for safety.
