Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build
Any idea where the car came from? I’m trying to locate the red Cyclone that was bought new with my black one in 65. I believe it was purchased in Jacksonville FL and brought to Slocomb AL right outside of Dothan. Let me know. I’ve got two serial numbers that came off the line within a day or two of ...

Found my 65 Caliente
I found my old Caliente that I bought the day I graduated college. I saw it by the road for sale, put my truck up for sale that day and had four guys fighting over it. I got more than I was asking, took cash to the guy with the Caliente, ask him if it ran, got the keys and drove it to my college gra...

Trying to track down 2 65 Cyclones by vin number or location
I'm trying to locate two cars of which one may be the twin to mine (ordered with mine new in 1965 from Jacksonville, FL to Slocomb/Dothan, AL) The red car was sold around 1985 to someone in Georgia (I believe Albany but not certain) From there I have no idea. Red paint, red interior. The two vin num...

Re: Black 65 Cyclone I’m tearing down to rebuild
Original as much as possible but 347 or 408 stroker and big brakes. May do mini tubs and sub frame connectors. Leaning toward teardrop hood and maybe fiberglass bumpers.

Re: Mislabled 65 Comet?
I'll have to dig around & see if I still have any of the old tag receipts with the VIN number on it.

Re: Mislabled 65 Comet?
I had a 1965 Calientie that was registered as a 1966 in Alabama (but it was the 65 body). That was my second 65 Comet.

Re: 1965 Comet Cyclone i've been trying to buy since I was 1
Turns out it is an A code car. I finally got in touch with the guy that pulled the engine out of it. The engine he took out was not the original engine that came in the car. It was a 302 & both engines had been blown up. The second one he broke the crank in half & knocked a hole in the side of the b...

Re: 65 Comet Cyclone - Vin
Nice find! Yeah Pop I thought I read somewhere that 4 speed cars got a 3.25 gear stock. Maybe not. Or maybe the original buyer opted for the higher gear? Joe 4 speed Cyclone cars had 3.00 Standard / Optional was 3.50 http://www.cometeastcarclub.org/PDF_Files/1965_facts.pdf (This is one of the most ...

Re: 65 Comet Cyclone - Vin
Thanks Anthony. My brother & dad are checking through it today. I've heard under the front seat, under the back seat, behind the instrument cluster & also the article on Hemmings said the 65 build sheets were sometimes behind the door panel. Hopefully it's still in tact. Still want to see exactly wh...

Re: 65 Comet Cyclone - Vin
Yeah, it didn't turn out to be exactly what I thought but I'm happy with it. I still need to find the build sheet.
Big project but it will be a fun car.
