Re: 61 sedean wheel well coating? Paint

I had the fenders off and then media blasted. Then painted with epoxy primer, then bed liner on top of that.

Re: Wiring ideas for your car

OK I looked at my diagram and the blue/yellow is a hot wire that is grounded out by the horn button to pull the horn relay in. The blue wire is also hot coming from the flasher where the flasher is fed from a fused panel. The green wire is hot when the brake pedal is pushed and the brake pedal switc...

Re: Wiring ideas for your car

In my diagram, connector A is a brake feed wire that goes to the switch on the brake peddle after it goes thru the built in circuit breaker in the switch. It was the way the factory protected the brake light circuit. When we add circuit panels with fuses we can eliminate switches such as theses.

Re: Wiring ideas for your car

Here is a picture of a 65 head light switch that is labeled. Looks like your switch has one less connector. Connection A which is the brake switch feed. I think what your labeling as headlights should be labeled battery feed and 12 volts in headlights as headlights. Your 12v in is good and Dome ligh...

Re: Weatherstripping prices

I got a personal quote from them and yes their price was high. They don't even have all the weather stripping included. I ended up buying individual pieces from Dearborn Classics. Their products seemed well made and they worked good. I had a little trouble with the front windshield. The windshield w...

Re: (At age 16 and on) Cristian’s 1962 Mercury comet s-22 build thread

Good to see your not afraid to jump in and try to figure it out. I would suggest getting a 12 volt light tester. There cheap and work really well. It's a hand held needle with a 12 volt bulb in it that's connected to a wire with a alligator clip. You clip the alligator clip to bear metal that's part...

Your doing a great job Cristian. Your story remindes me of my first car and working on it in my dad's driveway. Keep the pictures coming.

Re: Water leak by front of doors?

Thanks for the pictures Fred. I checked out what I have against your pictures and I have everything there. I did some more checking and found that the water was leaking behind the rubber seal that is under the drip trim and then goes down the door jam. When I installed that new seal I didn't use any...

Re: Water leak by front of doors?

Here are a couple of pictures explaining where the water goes. The first one is on top of the car at the end of the drip rail in front. It's wide open for water to go down behind the chrome T which is pictured in the second picture. https://i.postimg.cc/0j8THjSr/DSC01615.jpg The chrome T https://i.p...

Water leak by front of doors?

Ok for the first time I used a hose to wash the winter dust off the car and found a lot of water leaked in towards the front of both doors. I started looking at the drip rail in front by the roof and I can see that there is a clear passage for water to go down behind the chrome T piece which connect...
