Re: Update on me.
Glad to hear you are doing better Mike! Your positive attitude is probably the best medicine you could have! Looking forward to seeing you back in the garage & wrenching on the ‘64!

Re: New ‘65 Caliente project
Here are a couple more pics of the new Caliente before & after power washing the moss off, doesn’t look too bad for a $500 car!

Re: New ‘65 Caliente project
did it have the trim or any other parts inside of it? Yes luckily the trunk was full of all the trim, emblems, headlights, taillights, grill, etc. I think the only emblem I am missing is the C on the deck lid & the E is missing its pegs. I also got 2 front bumpers & a rear (bent) bumper. I’m sure g...

Re: New ‘65 Caliente project
Right now the major parts I need are a trans & driveshaft. If you get back over this way I have a 65 C4 & DS. the shaft came from my car, the trans i bought at the first gathering. Sounds great John, I am definitely interested in them! Maybe I can come out your way one weekend in the next couple of...

Re: New ‘65 Caliente project
It’s good to be back! For now I will use whatever good parts I have between the 2 cars to get the Caliente back together & driving. I haven’t really decided what to do with the 202, but since I already started cutting out the rear quarters to replace them, I may do an altered wheel base straight axl...

New ‘65 Caliente project
I’ve been away from the forum for a while, the rust repair on my 202 had me burned out & I had moved on to other projects. But that all changed Tuesday night when I picked up my first ‘65 Caliente project for a really good deal! It’s been sitting in the AR woods for over a decade, but somehow manage...

Re: Need toploader info. for SBF 302
Thanks for the info. Johno! I don't think I need overdrive but I found some really cheap overdrive toploaders so I was wondering if it was worth getting one, now I know why they are priced so low! I will keep looking for a regular toploader, from the research I have done so far, it sounds like a 28 ...

Need toploader info. for SBF 302
I apologize if this has already been covered, I did a search & didn't find the info I needed. I plan on putting a 4 speed toploader trans. behind my SBF 302 & I am wondering what I should look for when buying a toploader? The car will be a street car with occasional racing. Here are a few questions ...

Re: 1965 Comet 202 project
Ya I assume the doors had big towing mirrors or something on them? They came off of a Ranchero but luckily the guy has normal mirrors on his Ranchero now. This was the last major body panel I needed, my only big hurtle left is getting the rear quarters welded on which I have been holding off until I...

Re: 1965 Comet 202 project
Picked up a "new" passenger door yesterday! It has a few holes I need to fill but that will be a lot easier than trying to straighten out my old door

Re: Look What I Found!!
That is cool! I found one that was in about the same condition as yours when I took the door cards off my '64 Caliente, I remember saving it but it went with the car when I sold it. I really wish I never sold that '64!

Re: 1965 Comet 202 project
Thanks Rocket! You are correct, it is an 1850, the thing on the primary bowl was for a fuel bowl vent valve, it looks like my carb had one & it has been plugged to eliminate the vent. As you can see from the pics. this carb is pretty dirty & will be getting a rebuild in the near future! https://i.im...
