Here are some pics of the Crites hood on my 65 Caliente. Motor is a 331 stroker and carb is a Predator.

I have the Crites hood on my 65 Comet Caliente. I replaced the stock 289 and 4 speed for a 331 stroker and a World Class T5 transmission. This allows the shift handle to be centered in the floor. The carb is a Predator and the air box is Moroso.

Thank you all for the advice. The rupper flaps seem like a good idea. I don't plan on racing my Comet, but the 331 stroker should be around 350 hp and should be fun to drive.

Chad; In 1964, the 289 would have had a 5 bolt bell housing. In 65 they changed to the standard 6 bolt that all other small blocks such as the 302 and 351W had. Thank you for the info! That did help. I couldn't get the original horn to work, but found out I needed to make a small adjustment to the steering column and now it works find.

Does anyone have a picture or link to a correct 1965 Mercury Comet steering wheel assembly with part numbers?
