I recently bought a T-5 transmission to bolt onto my 289. I'm almost ready to yank the stock 260 & 3 speed tranny out. My question is will this 5 speed fit without a lot of hacking.... ??

Hi all and thank you for yr input...so come to find out , this motor I have is NOT a 231 it's a 1968 289 with electronic ignition , alternator and a 4 belt pulley on the harmonic balancer . It's slightly different than my 260 that's in my Comet .but it's NOT a 231....thanks again guys and stay healt...

when did FMC quit making these motors ?
& Are they good motors ? & what's the deal with the "water passing through the intake manifold @ the carburetor ??
