Re: 65 comet, will 63 bucket seats work
I have a local guy who works out of his home garage, he has done all the interiors and tops on the cars I have built/restored. I have not used any pre made seat covers so I cannot offer my experience with them. I purchased yardage of material then took a percentage of it and had it perforated, the ...

Re: 65 comet, will 63 bucket seats work
[url=https://postimages.org/][img]https://i.postimg.cc/BZBWPxPw/AB77-C6- Actually T bird seats are slightly smaller overall. A stock Comet seat is very square, the T Bird seat has more of a slimmer shape and is much more comfortable. I doubt if your ‘63 Comet seat cover will fit a T Bird seat, my s...

Re: 65 comet, will 63 bucket seats work
Fitting seats just takes some thought. Here is what I used- 1964 T Bird seat frames and foam with the original ‘64 Comet seat tracks adapted. They bolt in because of using the stock tracks, if you need them to be taller just make some spacers and mount them between the seats and the tracks not the ...

Re: 65 comet, will 63 bucket seats work
So I’m kind of lost here. The aluminum tag on the bottom of the “Mustang” seats indicated they were from a 62 Bird but then it turns out they were really 63 S22 Comet seats? Aside from Falcon and Fairlane buckets, I am desperately trying to find out what other buckets would be a direct fit in my 63 ...

Gorgeous car! Can I ask what pieces of your interior needed replaced and how hard they were to obtain or where you got them?bmmaurer wrote:The foam in this area needed to be cut to be narrower across the top edge to accommodate a different thickness of the area.

Re: 1963 Comet parts
I knew it couldn’t be as easy as just finding those pieces to repair the immediate trunk area surrounding the gas tank. I think there may be a trunk floor pan available from like Mac's not sure. I made my own, of course they are not factory appearing because I am using a '68 Mustang gas tank (and I...

Re: 1963 Comet parts
I have to know where exactly the trunk floor extension goes? They are the pieces that drop down vertically from the trunk floor to the bottom of the rear quarters I believe, I have heard them called trunk drops as well or trunk drop extensions. So basically they fill the spot from the rear inside w...

Re: 1963 Comet parts
I’m embarrassed to even ask this, but I have to know where exactly the trunk floor extension goes? I see the sheet metal for it and can’t picture it in my mind’s eye. Is it the side pieces on each side of the gas tank in the trunk?

Re: Interchangeable sheet metal
Thanks Mike. In my mind the Fairlane and Comet are very similar, though I know the Comet was built on the Falcon platform; then again, so was the Fairlane.

Interchangeable sheet metal
Does anyone know if any body parts from the Fairlane, Galaxie or Falcon are interchangeable with the Comet? Specifically talking about a 63 and wondering if a trunk pan from any of those vehicles can be used in the Comet. I’m also interested what you all have used (besides donor parts) to replace sh...

Re: Have a question about replacing sheet metal
Sorry to revive an old thread, but I’m wondering just what panels of the Falcon or the Fairlane are interchangeable for a 63 Comet. What are people doing for rusted trunk pans?
