'66 Cyclone

This is not mine, simply passing along a link my father sent me about a '66 Cyclone somewhere in Indiana that will be a big project to bring back to life. https://indiana-b.hibid.com/lot/83631-274021-14745/1966-mercury-comet?utm_source=Iterable&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=newsletter&utm_content=tu...

Re: confirming an original motor

Another way to do the labor but for no cost is to take the flywheel off and re-install it rotating it by one bolt hole pattern. If it has 4 bolts, that would be 90 degrees rotation. If it has 5 bolt hole pattern, then 72 degrees rotation. The motor often stops at the same position which is why one p...

When you say it was getting hot, as in normal engine temps or hotter than normal? Searching the internet I ...

Re: new dual master cylinder install

If you want to go "power" brakes, there is another option. Hydraulic power assist. Not sure how practical in your '65, but my friend has pointed them out while we browsed Barrett -Jackson. A line is tapped off the power steering pump (assuming you have that installed) and it supplies pressure to the...

Re: Southwest member

I was asking about the 00000 vin number as there is a '64 404 for sale somewhere in Phoenix. The listing person is merely trying to help the elderly owner sell it. They are "supposing" it means it is a pre-production model and asking a high price for it. The door tag says it was made Feb 25. I don't...

Hi all, My parents bought a '64 Cyclone when I was about 4 years old. It soon thereafter had a trailer hitch welded under it and our family used it for towing a pop-trailer. From Indiana we traveled as far as New Mexico and Arizona with it. Everyone in my family now wishes that car was still with us...
