Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

Well I got two good bumper cores from a member here who did me the kindness of crating and shipping them to me with brackets and fasteners. Today I took them to Spokane and made a deal with Spokane Metal Finishing to iron them out and triple plate them. Not cheap but they are take-offs from a 65 Cyc...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

Hey guys, I dug out my invoice from 2010 for the bumpers on my 67 Barracuda and it was $695.00 for both delivered to my door. On these 65 cars the bumpers make the car (IMHO) so I am prepared to pay for the chroming if I can get it. I'm going to try the outfit that did my last two cars and see if I ...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

Took a few days off from the car. Visiting friends and having my wife's family birthday party. I am done with the metal work and putting on the seam sealer and getting it ready for primer. Still on the hunt for factory bumpers, hope to have that solved soon. Happy Memorial day to all and everyone. D...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

I fabricated the trunk battery mount and made the hard decisions on mounting ect. https://i.postimg.cc/X7mVx5Jf/DSC01514.jpg I'm having a little trouble posting photos today. The vertical piece is where the 250A circuit will be direct from the + post of the battery. https://i.postimg.cc/KYrxZs5f/DSC...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

Thank you all for the responses to my question. I have built a trunk mount for the right side of my car and I have a 250A manual reset circuit breaker built onto the Optima battery mount for the + terminal. I have modified my battery box to become a terminal/relay location site. I am planning on run...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

I have read through the entire thread of electrical wiring ideas. Can I get a couple of examples of the routing of the battery cables from the trunk mounted battery to the front of the car. I have some ideas but would like to compare it to what someone has actually done. Thanks

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

Thanks for all the input guys! I will study the referenced thread and see what you folks are using. I'm interested to see what is posted there.
Tomorrow I continue the metal fab for my battery relocation project.

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

Thanks for the reply, I looked at the site but I think I need something more comprehensive. The wiring in my Cyclone was garbage and none of it was reusable. I removed it from the car in 6" increments so I have to start with a complete new system. On a side note I am relocating the battery to the tr...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

I am at the point that I need to decide on a complete wiring kit for my 65 Cyclone. Does anyone have a recommendation of a complete kit that works well. I will have AC, electric fans and will be putting headlight relays in for the headlights.
All advice is welcome.

Re: 65 Comet with 390

Got the headliner installed Friday night with the help from a friend. Has a couple wrinkles but he said they should come out with a hair dryer and some time. I forgot to buy the vinyl windlace so I'll get that on order in the next couple of days. Glass guy is scheduled for Wednesday to install new ...

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

Today I finished the installation of the new radiator mounting brackets. Dont look too hard at the welding, I have to roll my car outside to do any serious grinding or sanding. I had to fit in a patch panel on the upper cutout to expose only the radiator core. https://i.postimg.cc/YqFQXWLW/DSC01484....

Re: Doug's 65 Cyclone build

Thanks again to Lori for fixing the site license. I have been busy at my job but working on the Comet build as I go. I have a lot of time to research and purchase the next big thing for the build this way. Today is a post of my cooling system install. With a 415 HP 347 stroker and AC I went to my ra...
